[Ooooh this is bad. This is so bad, the first couple of times he was alone when it started, he could deal with it. He kept to himself so he didn't worry anyone. But he's since had that talk with Keith. He knows it's an option. And when the ears and tail manifest and he feels that urge in his gut, Shiro has to get it out. He has to deal with it.]

[ The cycle. Holy shit... Before, Shiro had held back. They hadn't talked. But now-- Things are different now. Keith's heart is beating fast and breathless in his chest as he texts back. ]

[ And then he's freaking out a little, showering quickly and getting himself ready in every way he knows how. He can't be sure if Shiro wants him for the reason he thinks he does, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared. He isn't sure how the Sanguis cycle works, but if it's anything like Iris then he knows how desperate Shiro is probably feeling-- so he moves as quickly as he can, dressing in something comfortable afterward and giving his hair a quick brush before heading out. ]

[Okay.... okay. Everything feels hot, hotter than the last couple of times when he kept to himself. The whole time he waits, Shiro has to tell himself he's not going that far with Keith. He trusts him and needs support here. Nothing more. He won't let anything happen while either of them are under influence.... Is what he tells himself.]

[ It doesn't matter what Shiro wants or what he's planning; Keith will always be here for him, will always come when he calls. He raps anxiously at the door when he arrives, hoping that Shiro has kept it together and hasn't--his stomach wrenches at the thought--sought out someone else. ]

Shiro? It's Keith. I'm coming in, okay?

[ He opens the door and steps inside. ]

Keith--

[The only mess inside is one he made in the last few minutes, some blankets and towels moved around. He wasn't keen on changes made to him by the Galra, and he isn't that happy with this either. He's on his couch, head in his hands and wolf ears prominent folded back.

But he perks up when he hears Keith, smells him coming. He's breathing hard and looks up to see him in the door.]

I'm here.

[He knows Keith would never think badly of him, but Shiro also knows he doesn't look his best right now.]

[ On the contrary, Keith thinks Shiro looks adorable right now. He keeps his opinions to himself, though, moving into the space and gingerly taking a seat on the couch next to him. ]

Hey... How do you feel? Do you need anything?

[ His hand finds Shiro's shoulder, gentle and reassuring. ]

I'll take care of you, Shiro.

[Shit. Shit, Keith's hand feels so hot on his shoulder even through his shirt. His ears swivel with the sound of Keith's voice next to him now.]

I-- [He rubs a hand down his face trying to breathe.] Water.

[ Water. Okay. Keith reluctantly leaves Shiro's side to go and fill up a glass, adding some ice cubes for good measure. This is easy enough, right? He just needs to care for Shiro the way Shiro cared for him when he was in heat, that's all.

Yeah. ]

Here. [ He sits by Shiro again, offering the water. He can't resist petting his ears a little, though, just a quick and gentle touch, smoothing them back. ]

[He takes the water, but... Oh. Oh, that touch is nice. He's touch starved, has been for a while now. He sets the glass on the coffee table and before Keith pulls away, takes his hand to kiss at his palm.]

[ Keith's breath catches in his chest. Their conversation at the hot springs seemed like a fever dream, brought on by the mysterious power of this place and nothing more, but now... It's dawning on Keith that this is reality, that Shiro really does see him that way and he's allowed to let that kiss send heat all the way through his body and down to his core. ]

Shiro...

[ He has no idea what to do. He'd never thought they'd get to this point, and it's not like he has any practice. He just watches Shiro with bated breath, willfully pliant, ready to respond to anything Shiro might want. ]

[I won't do anything while under the influence. That's what he told himself. It seems like a foggy idea with how his heart is racing in his ears and the heat is welling up in him. He needs more, he needs more of Keith's scent, his taste, him.

He's breathing hard watching Keith before he moves to wrap his arm around Keith's waist and pull him close, mouth by Keith's ear.]

Don't go.

I'm not going anywhere, Shiro.

[ It's the easiest thing he's ever said. Being devoted to Shiro is as easy as breathing to Keith. He lets Shiro pull him close and wraps his arms around him in turn, trying to be a rock for him even though he's much smaller in comparison. ]

I'll always be here with you.

It's such a far cry from I won't be here when you get back. Even with the heat rising in him, his chest catches and he has to breathe once before he moves again. He's so overcome by Keith, his devotion, how supportive he's always been despite everything.

Shiro shifts again, moving Keith almost onto his lap and holds him there, mouth pressing against his neck just under his ear.]

[ Keith's internal dialogue comes to a screeching halt, turning into a garbled mess with the touch of Shiro's lips on his skin. He'd often imagined things like this in the past, sure-- but in a vague, nonspecific sort of way that might be typical for someone with no frame of reference. This contact is so real, so direct, and his entire body suddenly feels hypersensitive from where he's half-seated on Shiro's lap. ]

Shiro... [ His heart is beating a mile a minute. ] A-are you okay?
